Imagine for a moment with us.
You’ve come out of an abusive home. You arrive to either a group home or a foster family home with only the clothes on your back and the rest of your belongings in a trash bag. While you are welcome in these new places, they don’t feel like home. Even though you don’t want to return to your past you are worried for the future.
In school, your friends ask you why you are in foster care. How do you explain what you’ve been through? That you don’t want to talk about where you came from. Some kids are in dozens of homes. They long for the stability, the support and the feeling of someone rooting for them, fighting for them, being for them!
How can we help provide that for these children?
Foster kids want to be regular kids, living, having fun and experiencing things like their peers. We want to help these kids have a childhood and a future. We are proud to work with Campbell Nelson to help foster kids have a summer camp experience. This summer, Campbell Nelson has partnered with Olive Crest, Treehouse, and Hand in Hand with the goal to raise $40,000 to pay for camp fees for foster kids in need. Every car sold helps send a kid to camp. As of June 10th they have raised $23,000!
Campbell Nelson is proud to partner with these great organizations and contribute on behalf of customers who purchase any new vehicle until June 30, 2016. More information may be found by visiting their website HERE or by visiting the dealership, which is located on Highway 99, just across the street from the North Seattle Costco in Edmonds.
Campbell Nelson is not only known for selling vehicles, but also serving the community. Over the years, Campbell Nelson has served dozens of local non-profits by taking care of the basic needs of those without a voice. Some of the charities that have benefitted from Campbell Nelson’s aid include: Habitat for Humanity, Vision House, Christian Veterinary Mission, and Union Gospel Mission.
Owner Kurt Campbell explains: ‘We carry out our involvement by partnering with non-profits that we feel are making a difference. Last year we had the privilege of partnering with over 2 dozen non-profits.’
