Most grandparents I know say that grandchildren are the absolute best. They are a total blessing in more ways than one. Studies are now showing that “grandmothers who babysat once a week scored higher on cognitive tests versus those who did not.” This comes from the North American Menopause Society. Further research from The National Institute on Aging (NIA) notes that “watching grandchildren helps seniors be more healthy and active.” Social interaction does indeed seem to correlate to better health.
