SPIRIT 105.3 Recognizes an “Unsung Hero”
(Lakewood – WA) Fallyn Gentry of Snohomish County has been recognized as a SPIRIT 105.3 “Unsung Hero.”
Four years ago, Fallyn Gentry wanted to have her birthday party at a local food bank. Not a normal place for a ten year old to spend her birthday. Fallyn with her friends and family, brought donated food and money for the “Food For Thought Backpack Program” and the Marysville Food Bank. She wanted to put others before herself by giving instead of receiving.
Every year since, Fallyn has continued to celebrate her birthday month by collecting donations for those who are without. She recently has spent her winter months with a second annual food drive for the Marysville Food Bank. To date, Fallyn has raised 531 pounds of food and has collected $1,300. Fallyn has touched the lives of many and is a true hero to her community.
Fallyn was nominated by Amy Howell, an Unsung Hero from last November and founder of the “Food For Thought Backpack Program”. A nonprofit dedicated to providing free or reduced lunch students with nutritiona, ready-to-eat snacks over the weekend.
