Here I sit, on the eve before these words are due, and I have nothing. On Sunday we will celebrate God’s great victory. Easter. The triumphant resurrection of our Savior.
The most powerful demonstration of love, the greatest gift ever given.
What on earth can I say that has not already been said? The sacrifice speaks for itself. I lower my head to the desk and exclaim (in dramatic fashion, of course) “How can I even begin?”
My husband pipes up, genuinely trying to be helpful. “You could open with a joke about the Easter Bunny. What’s his favorite music?”
Uproarious laughter. From him. Not me. I lower my head again.
Easter is not about bunnies and eggs and candy. It is about my Jesus. And my words fail, but that’s okay. Because His Word does not fail.
This week, find some time to read His Words. We all know the story of Easter, but as you prepare to celebrate it on Sunday, read it as it was written. Go to the source.
Because His Words are better than any I could have come up with for you. They are the perfect words that matter most.
