We are thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed so much and fought for our freedom. Will you join SPIRIT and recognize some of our local Military Heroes? Today we are recognizing Staff Sergeant Colborn. This is the story that was sent to us from Jennifer McClain.
Staff Sergeant Mark Colborn, my brother in-law – was deployed in the Middle East four years out of his 7 years in the service, which is excessive for any soldier. He served on a squad that was very hard working and faced danger every day, like many other troops. He was the leader of a squad that would find and disarm bombs, to not only protect fellow military troops, but to protect the innocent civilians including women and children of the country they served in. While away Mark made sure his family had the things they needed. He would send videos of himself reading a story book to his 3 year old son, and would call any time it was actually possible to keep his loved ones as close as could be expected. Mark is an amazing man. He is a great father, great husband, a great Christian and to me a great brother in law. I am thankful that he is finally home, and will not have to return again, and is able to spend the Holidays with his family this year. He is a truly giving person, and I would love to see Mark and his family get a little extra Christmas cheer in welcoming him home from his fourth tour in seven years.
SPIRIT 105.3 would like to thank GEICO for helping us recognize Military Heroes.
