He’s the God of the details.
Recently we had a cardiology appointment for our 9 year old son, Ethan.
Its the kind of appointment both parents go to, because you’re not sure what news you are going to receive.
Below you’ll see a GIF that my husband Joel has been texting me all week, and we pass it back and forth in our text string to each other whenever we pick up Ethan from school, because with all this rain, in typical nine-year-old boy fashion, his raincoat remains wadded up in his backpack and he looks (and smells) like a wet llama when we get him in our car. 😉
The GIF is from a kids film The Emperor’s New Groove.
This morning when we walked into the room for the echocardiogram, Joel said “LOOK!” and pointed to the television.
There was our wet llama. The exact scene was on at the exact moment we walked in. We both just stared at each other, wide-eyed.
He goes before us.
Jesus, in the smallest details.
Share in the comments when you’ve experienced something similar, I’d love to hear.
(And Ethan’s echocardiogram came back normal and we are so grateful!)

Yes. Love it when God does this. Yesterday, myself and daughter were praying over grandaughter’s school. Out of ordinary drama occurring with 4th grade girls. We prayed from memory, from our hearts “whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and when two or more gather in my name I am in the midst”.
Today’s bible plan study verse is Matthew 18:18-20 which is the actual verse.
Please PRAY for our schools.
God is so amazing! And, yes, we are joining with you to pray over schools!
My wife routinely called me at my office when she needed an item for preparing dinner, which i would pick up on my way home. We lived far out in the country and this was 1980 and cell phones were not yet a thing. So when i stared at the variety of kidney beans on the store shelf i couldn’t just call her to ask just what kind of beans she needed for making chili that evening. So i decided to get two cans of beans rather than just the one can she had asked for. When i arrived home and gave her two cans she was ecstatic. She said “when I realized i needed more than one can i asked God to please have my husband bring home two cans of beans!!!” He cared about my wife’s chili and answered her prayer. That was about 40 years ago. My wife is now in heaven but the story of how God was in our ‘mundane’ details still warms my heart.
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
