“We were meant to live for so much more…” are familiar lyrics for a Switchfoot fan. It came as no surprise that when the band rolled through town for two sold out shows at the Neptune Theatre, they decided to give back to the people of a city they love so much.
Jon, Tim, Chad, Jerome and Drew grabbed an apron (and some hairnets!) to serve lunch to the women at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission.
After a hot potato bar, including bowls of chili, Switchfoot performed three songs acoustic and offered words of encouragement to the residents, their children (many of whom were on spring break, so they got to experience the performance as well!) and staff and volunteers. One resident told us, “This is like my middle school dreams come true,” as she enjoyed her lunch and listened to the concert.
Our thanks to Switchfoot for reminding us all that even just an hour lunch break and help everyone to Catch the Spirit of Seattle
