The weight of life feels like a pressure on my shoulders. Grief sits heavy on my heart after unexpected loss. Watching someone near you make choices based on fear, regret, “if only,” is hard. Watching those choices walk them to the grave is hard. Is this you today too? Have you experienced a loss? Or are you in a place of sad, lonely, angry, spent, empty? If so, listen to this…
Every time I listen to this song I get chills. You guys, we are all broken things. Every one of us in some way. And, there is such good news for us!
“I’m just a beggar in the presence of a King. I wish I could bring so much more. But, if it is true that you use broken things. Then here I am Lord, I am all yours.”
You do not have to let grief, hatred, bitterness, fear, regret, “if only” rob your life. You do not have to let these things win! And believe me when I tell you that they will try to win.
“It’s never the perfect. It’s always the ones with the scars that you use.”
If you are struggling with a boulder on your shoulders, a weight sitting heavy making it hard for you to breathe, can I pray for you?
Lord, this world is hard. Really hard. We need you desperately and yet all the things of our lives sometimes get in the way. Will you lift the boulders from our shoulders, today? Will you fill our hearts with your peace, with your presence? Lord, will you use our brokenness? There is some deep hurt, Lord. There is some deep mourning among us. We know your Spirit can come down like a salve. We choose you, Lord. We choose love, and healing and forgiveness. We choose peace and light. We choose you. Amen
“There is a seat at the table waiting for you. So come on inside.”
I deeply relate to this song. Father, thank you that you use broken things and thank you for reminding me of this truth. Here I am, Lord I’m all yours.
