Vision House has Caught the Christmas SPIRIT by helping families stay off the streets and giving them temporary housing and services until they can support themselves again. Here’s one story that was recently shared with our team at SPIRIT 105.3.
My name is Kristina. My story is about my experience of God taking me from darkness and despair to light and peace.
My life was a series of bad decisions, resulting in getting pregnant and becoming homeless. I was discouraged, confused and scared.
At an appointment with my doctor, he asked if something was wrong. I cried as I told him what was going on. He told me about a place called Vision House where I could be safe, take care of my baby and start on a new path in life.
During my time at Vision House, I reconnected with my goals and dreams. I learned how to make good decisions and how to budget my money. I also learned how to be a better parent to my little boy. My counselors kept me accountable and motivated, but most of all they loved me instead of judging me.
I know that God has so much more for me. I just need to keep moving forward and have faith.
Life is good. I have found my peace. This is my story of hope.
