My daughter is only 4 but it has already begun. Questions about what makes someone beautiful. “Am I beautiful in this dress mommy? I want a shirt that makes me cute mommy! Can I wear those shoes so I’m pretty?” My strong desire is to build in her confidence, self-worth, and understanding that she is a masterpiece created for a specific purpose from God without all that other stuff.
A pretty tall order in this world I’m afraid. This is a world that pushes beauty and immodesty in so many destructive ways.
This is one of the reasons I am so grateful for the work of Secret Keeper Girl. They equip parents with tools, resources and events that empower them to have conversations about the tough stuff with their daughters. Parents, we have to be intentional with our girls! Here are some ways you can start developing the relationship with your daughter that inspires and promotes open communication.
