Karen & Terry Carlson have seven grandchildren, but this holiday season that number is soon to change to 8. Their son and his wife are receiving a baby through adoption and won’t be able to fly home for Christmas! They submitted their story to our Home for the Holidays contest and were selected as our first winners to visit their son, daughter-in-law, and shortly their newest grandchild!

This Christmas it was our turn to have our 30 year old baby boy and his wife home for Christmas. We have been praying for them and their desire to have children for several years. This year they decided the Lord wanted them to adopt. We are thrilled. We got their call that they have been matched with a child and our grandbaby is due the first part of December. They live in Arizona and it’s the law that they can’t leave the state for three to six months until things are settled with the state. Grandpa and me (Grandma) want to celebrate with them and rejoice with their precious gift of a child. We thought we had enough mileage points to go there for Christmas, but we don’t. We don’t have the money to even drive there. We both cried last night before the Lord because our hearts ache with desire to be there with them. We would love to fly to love on our much prayed for and much loved new grandchild.
