What a weekend! We had an absolute blast at the Tacoma Holiday Festival, and we’re still smiling as we look back on all the conversations, stories, laughter, and God-moments we experienced together.
Hundreds of people stopped by the SPIRIT 105.3 booth to spin the prize wheel, enter to win prizes, snap photos with our team, and most importantly, share how God is working in their lives. We even had six people ask for prayer right on the spot, and it was such a privilege to pray with them. From beginning to end, we felt God’s presence throughout the venue.
Our team had a merry time connecting with listeners and meeting new friends. Amanda absolutely rocked her first event as Promotions Lead with SPIRIT 105.3, bringing her heart for Jesus, servant leadership, and joyful energy. Stone and Natasha did a TREE-mendous job welcoming everyone with warm smiles, fun conversations, and lots of photos. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to represent the SPIRIT family.
We were also blessed to give away $50 and $100 cash prizes! One of our favorite moments was gathering around the prize entries and praying together, asking the Lord to choose the winners. It was a sweet reminder that even the small moments can be opportunities to invite God into what we’re doing.
And then came the stories.
One of the first that touched our hearts was meeting Debbie, who works at the Tacoma Dome. She shared that she had prayed the night before for a sign from God. Not long afterward, Stone walked by wearing a “Jesus loves you” hat, and Debbie knew it was exactly the reminder she’d been waiting for.
Throughout the weekend, we heard from listener after listener who shared how much SPIRIT 105.3 means to them. Many told us they listen every single day.
Nancy from University Place recently retired and happily told us she now listens ALL DAY LONG.
Launa shared an incredible story of healing from lung cancer. While she believes God worked through doctors, she also remembers the exact moment she felt healed while someone was praying for her. She told us SPIRIT 105.3 continues to encourage her and help keep her going.
One precious woman shared that her family has lost 10 people in the last year. As she talked about her grief, we had the opportunity to pray together right there at the booth. Moments like that remind us why we’re here.
We also got to celebrate with Stephanie, who won our $1,000 Holiday Show gift card. She’s a CNA and had to work that day, but she still made time to stop by and say hello before heading off to do some shopping. Her excitement was contagious!
Another unforgettable and humbling moment came when we met five sisters who make an annual tradition out of attending the Tacoma Holiday Festival together. One of them introduced herself as Julie from Bothell, and she shared that she had donated during our recent Fall Grateful Fundraiser.
And then there was our coffee run.
While grabbing coffee from the Dolce Vita truck, we met Allie Fox and her manager. As soon as they saw we were from SPIRIT 105.3, Allie smiled and said, “I ONLY listen to SPIRIT because of how it makes me feel!” We later learned that she and her manager attend Anchor Church in Tacoma together, lead a women’s study, serve on the hospitality team, and help with Celebrate Recovery. It was such an encouragement to hear what God is doing through their lives and ministry.
Finally, one of our favorite moments happened as we were packing up to leave.
A sweet mom walked by with her son, John, in a stroller and excitedly said, “LOOK HONEY, it’s your favorite station!” John’s face absolutely lit up. We soon discovered he was not quite three years old and already a huge fan of the music on SPIRIT 105.3. We gave him some stickers, and his joy was impossible to miss.
It’s moments like these that stay with us long after an event ends.
We’re incredibly grateful for every person who stopped by, shared their story, asked for prayer, spun the prize wheel, or simply said hello. Thank you for being part of the SPIRIT 105.3 family. Most of all, thank you for reminding us that God is moving in big ways through everyday people and everyday conversations.
Until all know Jesus. 💙💚
