Erica and Sherri Lynn are talking all about Russell Wilson’s move to [SPOILER ALERT!] the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sherri, a die-hard Steelers fan, has high expectations, as do all her fellow Steelers fans. They’re a whole different breed and she says that if he doesn’t bring his A-game, she might have a few more words for Erica if things don’t go well, lol.
We love Sherri [and Russ!]! Click PLAY to listen now.

Erica:
When I heard the news that Russell Wilson is going to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, I had to get the only Steelers fan I know on the phone. She’s your friend and my friend Sherri from the Brant Hansen Show. Welcome to SPIRIT 105.3. Thank you so much for making time for us this morning.
Sherri Lynn:
Sure, of course!
Erica:
Okay, so the news has come down. How do you feel?
Sherri Lynn:
Well, I will tell you that my city is going crazy, so I’ll tell you that. All my family friends, it’s a big deal because we don’t typically get big names like that. We usually, I’m going to sound a little arrogant here, I’m sorry, everybody… We usually make big names. We don’t usually get big names.
Erica:
Well, and you have long names too. I remember Ben Roethlisberger, right?
Sherri Lynn:
Yes. But he was made on the Steelers team. It wasn’t like we got him from some other team and he was already kind of a big name. So, people kind of get their names from the Steelers. We don’t usually go after big people, so I don’t know. I don’t know what to feel because I haven’t followed his career that much to know if he’s going to be of benefit to us. Certainly can’t hurt!
Erica:
Girl, you’re going to love him. One of my favorite things about Russ is his activity off the field. He was such a champion for Seattle Childrens [Hospital], and I just feel like he’s going to do that for Pittsburgh. He’s going to share the love of Christ in your city.
Sherri Lynn:
Well, you know what, I love that because there’s so many wonderful organizations and so many wonderful people there and wonderful churches. Obviously it’s where I grew up, so I pray that that will be true, and if it is, I mean, everyone’s going to be really, really excited. Unfortunately, sports is sort of like religion there too.
Erica:
Exactly right. So, you became a Pittsburgh Steelers fan because you grew up there?
Sherri Lynn:
Yes. We all come out of the womb with black and gold, little beanies and hand things and little things.
Erica:
That’s awesome. So what made you stay a Pittsburgh fan?
Sherri Lynn:
Well, you can’t leave Erica. They’ll find you and they’ll take care of you. So you have to say it’s forever.
Erica:
I love it.
Sherri Lynn:
Black and gold forever.
Erica:
Well, listen, I am super happy for you. I think you’re going to love Russ. Tell him we said hi, okay?
Sherri Lynn:
I will do that. Then I’ll check in with you. Now listen, lemme tell you something.
Erica:
Okay.
Sherri Lynn:
If you start messing up halfway through the season, we’re going to have another conversation on the air. Okay?
Erica:
I can’t wait. Well, actually, I hope that never happens.
Sherri Lynn:
There you go.
Erica:
I love you, Sherry. Have a great day.
Sherri Lynn:
I love you too, friend.
