Sometimes it’s hard to find the good news stories in each day. They don’t seem to make the top of the news feed. But, today, one rises to the top right here in the community of Shoreline and it simply begins with a customer at a restaurant noticing how hard the owner was working and asking how she is doing. When was the last time you slowed down enough to ask someone how they were doing? When was the last time you slowed down enough to really see the people around you?
The owner opens up to tell her that she is a widow, her husband passed away 5 years ago after 2 years of cancer. They didn’t have any children and now she is alone running her business. They immigrated and have no family in the area. After her husband died she was unable to keep paying her staff and she had to let them all go. Day in and day out she runs the business herself. This customer held her hand, told her it was going to be okay and offered her words of encouragement.
After hearing this story, another customer has set up a GoFundMe to help her.
We had a listener send us a note that he stopped by for lunch yesterday and she was so busy that she had run out of salad, all the dishes were dirty and everything was in to-go containers. He lent her a helping hand. She asked if God had sent him? She is a believer and God is showing up in so many beautiful ways to take care of her through the hands and feet of our community.
An encouraging story as we watch a community come together to share hope, encouragement and love!
