Looking Up: Small Businesses – Hippie Hounds Grooming and Self Wash
Nominated by: Joni Sears
Almost three years ago, my son and I adopted a dog we named Hunter. He brought Hippie Hounds into our life and I am forever grateful. Amanda and Aaron share their genuine love for furry babies and their families with everyone. Hippie Hounds makes living here better because it cares about people too. When I pick up Hunter after his grooming appointment, the groomer asks, “How are you doing Joni.” It is just a like seeing a super good friend again. I remember during one visit I was a little late picking up Hunter and Amanda said, “That’s okay, I’ll keep petting Hunter, he’s such a good boy!” Hippie Hounds also gave my son his first job this Summer. Andrei is now lathering up local furry friends! Amanda and Aaron interviewed Andrei and liked his passion to be with dogs and his interest in being able to support himself by saving money for his future.
Hippie Hounds made it through the pandemic. I want to share this story, because I never told Amanda or Aaron how much they mean to Andrei, Hunter and I. However, I prayed that Hippie Hounds would come out stronger and in a better position after the pandemic. The Lynwood shop has since expanded, because Amanda and Aaron navigated the pandemic with skill and care. The team continues to smile, lather dogs with shampoo, and love on each dog!
Thank you Hippie Hounds!!!

This Summer we are excited to partner with Harborstone Credit Union to honor local small businesses. Many small businesses are the cornerstones of our communities.
