Hannah Kerr on if Purity is a thing of the Past

So in this day and age it seems like purity is something of the past. It feels like that’s just… it’s not the thing that people strive for anymore. And I think that’s heartbreaking. I’ve watched so many of my friends in high school and college give away what God has called us to be, and that’s pure. And that just doesn’t mean sexually, that means in every way, we need to strive to be holy, and strive to be pure. So, in my own life, I always pray that God will make me pure, because purity leads to wisdom, it leads to kindness, gentleness and everything that God calls us to be. It all comes from being pure in the first place. So that’s what I strive to be. I’m definitely not perfect. But, just watching how not being pure and not striving for that has really hurt people that I love, that makes me want to strive for purity even more in my life, in my relationships; just in everything that I am. That’s what I want to be overall, is to be a beacon of purity in a world where purity seems like it’s irrelevant. And I hate that. It’s sad.
