Dear Dad!
Did you know YOU are key to your daughter’s success in life? The role of father is vitally important and this means all dads, including fathers in blended families, grandpas stepping in when dad is gone, and guardians. There is something powerful and wonderful about men stepping up to be “daddy.”
When you connect with your precious girl in meaningful ways that matter to her, you unlock the power of the father-daughter relationship and create a foundation for future connections. It’s not hard, but it takes intention. According to research, good dads are involved, show affection and remain emotionally available. Add to this, providing, protecting and presenting God’s truth to her through your words and actions and you have a winning plan!
We are creating an ideal opportunity for you to connect with your daughter on March 16th at The Father Daughter Gala at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Maybe you feel close to your daughter- maybe you feel distant. This premier event will be a “win” in both situations. Dads matter in the lives of their daughters. No exceptions. This is why men who choose to be good dads deserve all the support they can get, because it’s a marathon, not a sprint and we want to help you!
Our daughters are facing incredible pressures, and many of which we may not be aware. They struggle with their identity, purpose, body image and other’s views of them leaving them wondering if even God can love them. This may surprise you because your daughter seems just fine. I know because my husband and I raised five kids – three of them daughters and we wish we would have looked behind the smile just a bit more. We know you are a good dad and want to be there for her, so I’ll share just a bit more of the pressure your daughter is feeling. Even in the best situation, she never feels she is enough. The culture, social media and even friends from church and school can mistakenly send the wrong messages to her.
Girls are more confused about their identity than ever before and we want to help her know she is unique, which is a good thing and that she is enough. In fact, one of our special guest speakers, Nicole Renard, Miss Washington 2017 will share about her own journey with bullying and how she learned she is enough. We also know the culture is confusing girls about their sexuality. We want to help your daughter treasure who she is, live in agreement with her design and protect her future story by helping her make good choices. And good news, no matter what her story has been, this event is a way to create a moment in her story going forward that is bright, hopeful and full of God’s love and grace.
These times call for extra doses of laughter, joy and memories that will be good for both of you! The Legacy Institute and CRISTA Media (SPIRIT 105.3 and AM 630 KCIS) want to help you love and support your daughter so she knows, no matter what, that her daddy loves her and her heavenly Father does too!
Here’s what we are prescribing: First, set the time aside for this unique event that will equip you to be an even better dad and give her inspiration to be who God made her to be. After you register, you’ll receive three online resources from The Legacy Institute for free! Emily’s Club – A Middle School Resource to give your daughter important life skills, True Beauty, A Study on Biblical Femininity for High School girls, and Kingdom Power Glory: A Manhood Study Based on the Lord’s Prayer.
Next, we encourage you and your daughter to dress up for this special event to show its importance and yes, this means a tie and jacket. Believe it or not, when you give your appearance attention, it shows your daughter that she is important. The night of the special evening you arrive with your daughter to a red-carpet greeting. She sees Hollywood stars getting attention, why not show her she is the real star? The rest of the night includes gifts, surprises, meeting Miss Washington Nicole Renard, messages from guest speakers, a fantastic dinner buffet, sparkling toasts, dessert bar, more gifts, some big giveaways (Like $200 gift cards to Home Depot and $150 jewelry gift cards to use for promise rings, cross necklaces or whatever you choose to commemorate this special event), videos from Christian music artists with messages for your daughter, more surprise guests with encouraging messages for you, Nicole Renard Miss Washington sharing her story and encouraging your daughter to be all she can by God’s design, a quick dance lesson and yes, dancing! Whew – a full and memorable evening! (Try to do this at home. No, don’t, it would feel weird.)
There is a reason attending a large, excellent, professionally produced event has an impact. It gives us an experience we can’t create on our own. So, we’re hoping you will make the investment of time and emotional engagement in this very important night with your daughter who is going through the most challenging years of her life. This will be a night you will both remember for a long time!
And yes, there is a financial investment and you have choices to make. You can take her to movies (average cost for tickets, popcorn etc. $50). You can take her skiing, and the lift tickets average $65-$90 and that doesn’t include food. Serious fun, but not quite the same. You can go to a sporting event, concerts, dinners out easily costing $50-$100 and these are all special moments. Of course, spending no money and just hanging with your girl is perfect. So, $88 is an investment and it covers the actual costs for this type of event. We really value and respect the choices you will consider to make this night possible for your princess. We think you are both worth it!
