The Skagit Valley Tulip festival continues daily through April 30. While the first weekend consisted mostly of daffodils in bloom, the tulips are beginning to open up and expected to provide spectacular color the rest of the month. Cost varies.
Camping and outdoor enthusiasts will want to head to the RV Show at Evergreen State Fairgrounds Monroe; adult admission is $7 (good for all 3 days), kids and parking are FREE. Visit their website for ticket discounts. Cost: $7.
The Clipper Round The World Yacht Race
It’s underway and will make a stop in Seattle after crossing the mighty Pacific Ocean–more than 5,530 nautical miles–from Qingdao, China. The race teams, made up of ordinary people like you and me) are expected to arrive between Saturday, April 14, 2018 and Thursday April 19, 2018, dependent on race progress and weather conditions. It’s free to see them at Bell Harbor Marina (Bell Street Pier/Pier 66). Track their progress online.

International children’s festival
April 14 – 15, 2018
Children from around the world dance, sing, play music, make origami, and get faces painted at the International Children’s Friendship Festival at Seattle Center in Fisher Pavilion. Free.
Starting Feb 16, 2018 and running through June 10 TOYTOPIA is on view at the State History Museum in Tacoma. Here is some information about the exhibit, “What was your favorite childhood toy? A jump rope, a board game, or Space Invaders? Or was it an Easy Bake Oven or a Slinky? You’re sure to find your favorite toys in TOYTOPIA, opening February 16 and running through June 10, 2018. This exhibition is huge, both in terms of layout and contents. The museum’s expansive fifth floor galleries will become a magical land of big toys where you can play all day with the world’s largest Etch A Sketch, a life-size doll house, a human-scale Monopoly car, and much more.” Cost: $14 for Adults, $11 for seniors and military (with ID) and youth/students, under 5 are free! Admission for Historical Society Members is free.
