Are you preparing to hang Christmas lights at your home?
If you’re like me, you probably wait and hang your lights the day after Thanksgiving. That’s when you’ll find me out on the roof.
But first, this weekend, I have to pull the lights out of the boxes in the garage, get them untangled and replace any burnt out bulbs. I’ve learned over the years that a little preparation beforehand saves me a ton of frustration later (actually my wife taught me that). So then when I do plug the lights in, my house will shine brightly.
I’ve also learned that those “tangled lights” are a reminder to me of what the Christmas season is about; celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and the gift of His love. Love that can help untangle those knots in our hearts that dim our lights and keep us from loving others fully.
This Christmas season, I hope your “lights” untangle easily and God’s love shines brightly on you!
Blessings-
Paul Fredricks
