We’re happy to announce our first Breaking Bread winner: Heather from Oak Harbor! Take a moment to read her story:
Unfortunately since my mom passed in 2015 we haven’t been able to celebrate any holidays all together as she was the glue of our family and I can’t compare even though I try so hard. This year for Easter I would like to surprise my aging dad with a nice dinner that sparks memories of his childhood. I just don’t have the means to provide it.
My dad is my hero. He has been having multiple health problems this year and now is unable to drive. It is absolutely heartbreaking to watch your hero fall apart, unable to do life’s basic things, confused, and forgetful. I’m not sure how many Easters we will have left to celebrate. I want to give back to him what he has given me through life, which I can never do. But, a nice Easter dinner, family time, and celebration would do him some good. Spark some memories and create new ones together.
In addition, Heather is choosing to bless Tasha Washington with an Easter meal. Here’s what she shared about Tasha, her friend in Arkansas:
Tasha is my best friend and sister by choice. She has been there for me through all of my ups and downs in my life. Her and her mom are struggling financially. Her mom is aging as well and Tasha takes care of her. They utilize food banks a lot and unfortunately don’t get the chance to create nice meals. If we get selected I would like to bless them with a nice Easter meal, they deserve it.

Thank you Spirit 105.3, Robert Gardner Roofing, and JC Contractors & Renovations. We will be enjoying a very lovely Easter meal this year due to your generosity. I appreciate this blessing more than I can say in words. God is good, all the time!
