“Here… you can’t lean on modern medicine. You can’t lean on 911 – there is no 911. It’s like so much more raw… and you have to lean on God so much more and in such a more tangible way.” ~ Amanda Meeuwse, Mom and Missionary in Indonesia
About 6,709 miles away from the Pacific Northwest, an amazing family from Washington is serving the Lord in a place where people live in grass huts… in a place where there is no 911 to call. Matthew and Amanda Meeuwse, and their daughters, Grace and Audrey, live in Papua New Guinea. They work on behalf of Helimission, an organization that uses helicopters to help people in remote and inaccessible locations… where the natives must hike many hours and miles for medical help when it’s needed.
We would have never known about this wonderful family and the incredible work they do, had it not been for Matthew’s sister, Cristina, who won the SPIRIT Secret Sound and blessed her beloved missionary family in Indonesia with the $1,000 to give away. Amazingly, the sound was the propellor of an airplane… and this family spreads the Good News using aviation. The helicopters are literally called: “The Wings of the Gospel.” That is a GOD NOD!
It was awesome to be able to connect with Amanda, who grew up in Covington listening to SPIRIT 105.3, via WhatsApp! Join us for a conversation about becoming a missionary, trusting the Lord to take care of you and your loved ones in a country where tropical diseases can strike, what happened when one did strike their precious daughter, and the crucial work that happens – life by life – because this family said YES to God.
You are Loved,
Erica and Steve
