“One of the reasons that I did this marathon was to raise awareness for domestic abuse. I feel like that topic is very much kept in the dark and very much an isolating experience. When we started this walk together at 2 AM, there was just a handful of us… it was quiet… it was dark, but we kept on forging ahead and as the day went on, the light became part of our day and the crowds grew until we crossed the finish line. It went from being a relatively dark experience where we were all alone trying to raise awareness about domestic abuse to the end where the entire community rallied around us and there was so much light and hope. ~Dana Lawson
It was a dream 22 years in the making that just came true for an amazing woman in Port Angeles. She’s a domestic abuse survivor who runs to raise awareness. She’s been battling cancer for over two decades, part of that time as a single amputee. And she just completed the North Olympic Discovery Marathon on CRUTCHES! Dana Lawson is our special guest today. Join Dana, Erica, and Steve for a conversation about what CAN’T you do?!
