I wish I could put into words how truly blessed I feel as a parent to have Sarah as a teacher in my children’s lives. She taught my older son last year and has my youngest son in class this year. This has given me the opportunity to see her switch from in-person learning to distance-learning, basically overnight, last year. She did an amazing job, kept the class engaged and continued to make connections with each of her students. Those
students from last year’s class now often plan “reunion zooms” so they can see her and each other.
This year, I have seen Sarah navigate in-person learning with all of the COVID restrictions that are in place. Throughout all of the difficulties, the challenges, the changes that have been happening over the last year, Sarah’s dedication to her students has never faltered. She comes to class each day with a smile and a happy attitude. I have seen her help both of my boys grow not only academically, but spiritually as well.
Her faith in our Lord shines in all that she does. In addition to teaching, Sarah also does youth group at her church. You can tell that this is truly her passion and her life‘s work. I thank God that he has put her in my children’s lives.
Aside from the amazing teacher she is, I also appreciate the impact she has had on my own life. As a parent, it’s never easy having your children away from you and you often question yourself and if you’re doing this parenting thing “right.” There have been many times that Sarah has sent me a note of encouragement or praise of my boys, not knowing that I really needed to hear what she had to say. It brightens my day and eases my momma heart more than she’ll know.
