It’s official…the Mariners legend is off the roaster. Ichiro is moving out of the dugout and into the front office. He will become a special assistant to the team. He’ll still work out with them, maybe leaving the door open to play next year when the team travels to Japan, his home country, of course. Full story
A beautiful but eerie sight as Mount Kilauea erupts in Hawaii, with lava flowing down the mountain, threatening hundreds of homes. Evacuations are underway on the island. Thankfully, no one has been hurt. Full story

Northbound I-5 will be down to one lane between the West Seattle Bridge and Lakewood from Saturday at 8 p.m. to Sunday morning at 5 a.m. Saturday is Opening Day of boating season, a Sounders game at 1 p.m. and the Mariners play at 6:10.
