(Seattle, WA) Mike Rohrbach, from Seattle, WA has been recognized as a SPIRIT 105.3 “Unsung Hero.”
Mike had the privilege to play on the University of Washington Football Team in 1978, the year that the Huskies won the Rose Bowl. That season, he was voted as team captain by his team which he considers to be one of the greatest honors.
After graduating from college, Mike worked for 12 years as a member of the UW Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mike has used the same leadership skills that got him voted as captain ever since. In 1991 Mike and his wife, Karen, had a wish to make a difference in kids, athletes, and coaches through a commitment to Jesus. The two of them started a youth sports ministry in Edmonds called Run to Win, providing Christian Sports Camps for kids in the Puget Sound. The first year they started with a football camp including just 38 young athletes. This year they are expecting up to 5,000 kids with 24 different day camps in eight sports for kids ages 6-14.
With a servant’s heart and a passion for others, Mike is a shining example of the “SPIRIT of Seattle.” It’s an honor and a privilege to recognize him as one of our “Unsung Heroes.” To find out more about Run to Win Camps click HERE.
