Today is moving day! You may have heard that I’m moving to a RV. It’s true! Our family of 5 has decided to downsize and move into our RV. It started simply really. We traveled to visit some family in our RV over the holidays and we just starting thinking…you know, we could really do this long term. At the time we weren’t really thinking of doing it long term, but suddenly we found ourselves having more conversations about it. What would it look like if we did downsize? Think of the money we would save without a mortgage. Think about what we could do being debt free. Could we actually do it?
We decided we would try.
So, here we go. It’s a new adventure for our family and I look forward to giving you updates. Today is moving day and here is a brief tour of our RV + a few organization tips & a request for help – what are we going to do about Lloyd’s shirts??
I lived in a 35foot travel trailer and had 4 children. I lived in it for a few months and my father bought a 40 foot 5th wheel so we would have more room. I lived in it for a few years so that I could care for my mom while she was sick before she passed away. I know that it sounds crazy but I wish I had it now
We are seeing more and more of our people that are homeless living in these. So I wish you all well. God bless you and happy saving.
Thanks for responding Cynthia and for sharing. We’ll see how this goes! -Amy
Hi Amy, Thank you so much for sharing. My husband and I have been talking about doing this. We would love to get debt free and in our current home it just seems impossible. Please share more updates. We would love to hear all that your able to share.
Blessings Carrie

Hi Amy, My husband and I have 2 young boys and have lived in an RV since our 9 year had just turned 2. We would not go back to a house and people think we are crazy, but we have found excellent ways to live this great adventure. I am not sure where you are keeping your RV but over a couple of years of trial and error, we found an excellent place where between 2 lots (that are only ours) we live the entire year. We have a storage building on one and an enclosure with a room (to park the RV in) on the other. We find that we are so much closer as a family than if we lived in all separate rooms. We actually downsized our RV after the first 2 years and we still love it. It is an adventure, and there are some things we wish we knew at the beginning, such as make sure to have a dehumidifier, but we have learned a lot and would not change it. Let me know if you have any questions that I can help with since we have been doing this over 7 years.
Thanks! Sherry
