(Langley – WA) Lori Cavender of Island County has been recognized as a SPIRIT 105.3 “Unsung Hero.”
In 2009, Lori Cavender founded the non-profit known today as Ryan’s House for Youth (RHFY). Since it’s opening, RHFY has served over 200 homeless and at-risk youth ages 13-24 across Whidbey Island. Their services are focused on mentoring and supporting homeless youth to deliver necessary supplies, help them finish school, and get hired in the work force. Cavender works day and night helping youth get on the right path and be successful. Her loving and compassionate heart for these young adults, gives them a sense of importance.
Cavender’s endless dedication to these youth has played a key role in their lives. A true superhero to the homeless youth in the area who sincerely believes in the success of the young students.
