(SEATTLE, Washington) – World Concern’s annual 5k run to fight human trafficking has a new name to go with the same great cause. After eight years of the Free Them 5k, World Concern is aligning the run with the organization’s S.O.S. (Seek Out and Stop trafficking) Initiative, making this year’s event the S.O.S. 5k.
Attendees will join more than 1,500 passionate runners and walkers who will lace-up at World Concern’s headquarter on Saturday, May 13, to help raise awareness and funds to help stop human trafficking.
Human trafficking is estimated to be the third largest criminal activity in the world, and more than 80% of trafficking victims are women and young girls. World Concern works to protect those vulnerable to modern-day slavery, sexual exploitation, and abuse in some of the poorest places in Southeast Asia and around the world.
