My husband is an attorney.
When we moved five years ago he couldn’t find a job.
I remember looking at his face when he walked in the door, late, wearing his red uniform shirt with the little white bullseye logo on the pocket from his part –time job. Defeated.
As each Christmas passed us by, the toll of him being out of full time work was beginning to chip away at us.
A friend of mine wrote me a card with just a few simple sentences of encouragement. One of the sentences included “Lean in to HIM and into each other.” Even typing these words out bring back the heaviness of that time in our family’s life. We were growing weary and weak from fighting and frankly, on the verge of giving up. I’m pretty sure some of our very own family members had already concluded our end.
I felt God speak to my heart—and realized we had stopped trusting Him.
God is our Mighty Warrior. He fights for us. He wants us to win. When did I forget that His plan for me and you is ALWAYS good? He wants us to TRUST HIM.
My sweet friend, this Christmas, whatever you may be going through I want to reach through this screen and squeeze your hand—and remind you that he loves you so intensely and you are not alone. There’s not a place you’ll ever go that he has not already stood. My new favorite song right now is called Trust in You by Lauren Daigle. Hope it encourages you –maybe you know someone that needs to hear these words too. Merry Christmas and Love to you, Amy
