One person is dead and 37 are injured after police say a woman intentionally drove her car up onto a sidewalk on the Las Vegas strip last night. It happened right outside the Paris Hotel & Casino. 6 of the 37 injured are in critical condition. Police say the woman, who is in her 20s, drove up onto the sidewalk 2 or 3 times. She is being held with charges pending, and police have not yet said why she did it or if alcohol was involved.
Tragic news from the family of former president Jimmy Carter. Just 2 weeks after revealing that his brain cancer is gone, President Carter announced to his church yesterday that his 28 year old grandson had passed away. According to CNN, Jeremy Carter had not been feeling well when he laid down to take a nap on Saturday. He then went into cardiac arrest and could not be revived. President Carter made the announcement to his church in Plains, Georgia, and then proceeded to teach Sunday school, as he has for many years.
Well, an awkward moment last night at the Miss Universe pageant when host Steve Harvey accidentally announced Miss Columbia as the winner. After several minutes of Miss Columbia wearing the crown and waving to the audience, Harvey came back on stage to announce that he made a mistake and that is was actually Miss Philippines who had won.
