Democratic presidential candidate Jim Webb, who complained repeatedly during the first Democratic debate about not getting enough speaking time, will consider running as an independent, his campaign announced. The decision may come sooner rather than later, as the former Virginia senator will hold a news conference today. A shift in party may not have much of an impact though, as Webb’s support in recent polls hasn’t broken 2% yet.
Hershey is coming out with a bigger kiss. It’s called Hershey’s Kiss Deluxe, and it has a hazelnut in the center.
Canada has elected a new government. Justin Trudeau will be the new Prime Minister after a victory by the Liberal Party. Stephen Harper and the Conservatives had been in power for 10 years.
Seattle Public Schools are proposing new start times for schools next year, and parents of some of the youngest kids are upset about how late school will start. Citing exhaustion and safety issues, parents are hoping they can change the school board’s mind before they vote on the times next week. School would start at 9:40 a.m. Kids depart school at 4:20 pm.
Bremerton football coach Joe Kennedy still has a job after defying the district’s orders not to pray at the 50 yard line after the football game. The superintendent had said that school employees had to refrain from religious expression while on duty. They are now talking it over with the coach’s lawyers.
Have you noticed more fruit flies this year? Blame the dry weather. Fruit falls to the ground but doesn’t decompose as quickly when it’s so dry out. So there’s more time for the fruit flies to come have a snack.
If you live in an unincorporated part of Kitsap County, your address may be wrong…. Or at least out of compliance. Why does that matter? They’re putting together the new Next Generation 911 service, and they need to have all the addresses in order to be able to serve everyone. Beginning next week, you could be notified that your address is being adjusted.
