These days, a smile costs $49.
I wonder if this might be the first time this lady has smiled since April 25th, when an earthquake ripped her life into a new shape?
The reason she’s smiling is because she’s receiving an earthquake survival kit from a World Concern worker. A kit that maybe you paid for, during our special morning for Nepal Relief. That morning, in just 3 hours, you provided over 4,100 survival kits.
“The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.” – C.S. Lewis
After a tragedy like the earthquake in Nepal, the easy response would be to not respond at all- In other words, indifference. But because of love, you put a smile on the face of a Nepalese woman whom you’ll likely never meet. Because of love, someone who doesn’t look like you, talk like you, and believe like you will get their first glimpse of the Jesus who loves them in a bundled up plastic sheet and medical supplies. Because of love, you made a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for giving, and thank for being a listener and friend to us.
