‘Why don’t you look at me like that anymore?’
I can imagine God saying something like that.
Recently, a friend of mine had one of the most interesting flights. She sat next to a guy from West Virginia who had never been on a plane until that day. He had also never seen a building taller than two stories or seen the ocean. He hunts squirrels and makes gravy and biscuits out of them. His wife is pregnant and he thinks they are getting started late with their family.
He took a 4 minute video of the city lights as they were landing at the airport. He was adorable and charming and totally laughing along as he amused everyone with stories that were everyday life for him and totally fascinating to those listening close by.
He reminds me to be grateful all over again. Looking around at what may seem like our every day . . . . in reality, is spectacular. ~Amy
“We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts.” ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer
We always pray, but we never look at things the same way.
