OH COME ON!!! HOW DO YOU NOT GIVE MARSHAWN THE BALL ON THE ½ YARDLINE!?!?!?! Yes I was saying that too on Sunday night. I’m not writing this to pile on the Seahawks. I love the way Pete Carroll stood tall and took responsibility for what happened. He’s a great coach and the Seahawks wouldn’t be who they are without him.
I’m also glad that my mistakes are nowhere near as public as that. I don’t know about you but I get pretty anxious about messing things up. I try to cling to the idea that God has a plan and I am just a small part of it. But I’m always kind of afraid He’s going to give me something and I’m going to goof it up, and He’s going to do His equivalent of a face palm and say “I’ve had it with this clown!”
I can remember trying to decide whether to move my family for a job and thinking “what if I get this wrong? “ A friend gave me some advice that I found very helpful. He said that I might get it wrong, I might get it right. But that God’s love for me would be constant none-the-less.
In Isaiah 35 the Bible says
And a highway shall be there,
the unclean shall not pass over it.
It shall belong to those who walk on the way;
even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. (ESV)
Even if they are fools, they shall not go astray.
Well this fool is glad that God is patient, God is gracious, God is loving. Did I mention God is patient? Have you ever struggled with a fear of failing God. You will. I will. But God doesn’t love us because we are good at something, or even because we are good at all. He loves us because that’s who He is. Want to explore God more? We’ve got resources for you here.
