State officials are seeking a court order to detain Kaci Hickox for the remainder of the 21-day incubation period for Ebola that ends on Nov. 10.
Madison Bumgarner pitches Giants to World Series championship in classic Game 7– The San Francisco Giants are World Series Champions for the third time in five years. The deciding game went down to the wire when the Royals Alex Gordon hit a triple with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, down 3-2. But Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner got the next batter out to win the game. Bumgarner pitched in three of the 7 games, and got the complete game in game 7. It’s considered to be one of the best world series performances by a pitcher ever.
Yesterday, Microsoft laid off 3,000 workers — 638 of them in the Puget Sound area — an action that just about completes the elimination of 18,000 jobs the company had said last July it would undertake over the next year. The layoffs cut across different groups and geographic areas, but most were in finance, human resources, marketing and other support functions.
