Autumn officially arrives soon on September 22. What gorgeous weather we’ve had this summer! September is usually warm here so it still feels nice and summery this month before we get into the cooler weather. School has started and the routines that have been set aside for summertime activities are gearing up again. Many of us feel rather wistful as we say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.
Like the changing seasons in nature, God has designed our lives to be seasonal, too. We can approach any change with either apprehension or anticipation. Let’s choose anticipation! Embrace it with open arms and see what God will do in this new season of your life.
I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with memories you’ll cherish for years to come, and that autumn brings with it the joy of family, friendships, good health, new learning experiences, and creativity!
One of the highlights of my summer was when I went kayaking and seaweed harvesting for the first time on Lopez Island in the gorgeous San Juan Islands in July. I loved it! I plan on doing more kayaking now that I’ve been introduced to it and found that I really enjoy it. This fall I’m very excited about taking art classes again after a long lapse as well as getting back into music as I play my flute in organized community groups.
