Over the weekend my wife and I visited a church membership class, as we were curious what they believe and their expectations. It got me wondering how many people actually know the core beliefs of the church they attend. Do you know?
You probably won’t find any huge surprises, but what if you discovered your church had a particular doctrine that you aren’t really sure you agree with. What would you do?
I hope you decide to be a “truth seeker.” Ask questions. When a church makes doctrinal statements, you are entitled to ask for clear, in context, scriptural proof. If it still doesn’t make sense, ask for more clarification. We can really learn from this process. To defend your faith, it’s important to know why you believe what you believe.
Ask God for insight… as it is his delight when you ask for wisdom.
All the best,
