A little wisdom I picked up at a Family Life Weekend to Remember recently.
You’ve heard the term “50-50” marriage? On the surface that might sound just great. I’ll do half, you do half, and we’ll live “half-ily” ever after. Reality: It causes us to “keep score” on each other. Easy to see how that can bring frustration or holding back to “make it fair.”
Solution? Put your full self into your marriage, or any other significant relationship of worth, at 110%. Focus on what you can pour into it, not just take. Be watchful for what you can do to bless the other, and then actually do it!
“True love” is not what you feel, it’s what you do.
May your Christmas be a merry one,
-Larry
