I don’t know many people whose lives have not been touched, in some way, by cancer. For me, so far, it has been through both of my parents. We lost dad in 1993 after a 2-year battle. My mother, on the other hand, outlived unique diagnoses for breast and lung cancers by over 8 years. She passed away this year due to other causes.
I’m grateful for the care that both my parents received during their separate battles with this disease. I really believe the doctors and staff made every effort to see them get well. Having a team of people on our side, who we could trust, and who cared about us, was invaluable. They helped see me, and the rest of my family, through those difficult times with faith and hope.
