  • A recent text from a frustrated kid read “I hate reality.” While that may sound melodramatic, kids have a finely honed sense of justice. They are pretty certain that hunger should be addressed, toys should be shared, and love should be perceived. Yet nearly half of all the children on our planet live in poverty.

  • It feels as if more and more tragedy is invading our lives and the news. Love this reminder from Ann Voskamp: After Paris, the calendar says it, that Advent cusps, that now the days will get shorter and the night will get longer and longer and longer, till it seems like the night’s invading the day —- and then Grace with skin will invade everything.
