Getting Together with Family

UPDATE: Pictures of this event can be viewed here.

We’re really excited about a new family gathering we’ve planned for this Monday, August 5th - It’s our first SPIRIT Night Of Worship!

The idea for Spirit NOW really struck me as I looked out over 10,000 people all singing together at the Chris Tomlin concert in April. In that moment, it wasn’t about Chris, the band, the lights, or the massive sound system. It was about lifting our voices together to Him. There’s just something about getting together with other SPIRIT listeners to worship and pray together as a family that helps us to keep our life grounded in God and focused on all the right things.

So, that’s what Spirit NOW is all about- singing out to God together and praying for our families, our cities and nation. It’s not about a particular church, worship leader, or radio station. That’s why we’ve selected a different church to host this event each month, and we’ve asked local worship leaders and bands to partner with us. One thing we are sure of - God inhabits the worship of His people, which makes Spirit NOW really important. And, as a radio station, if we can gather the family together in one location to bring honor and glory to His Name, then we’re "all in."

Will you come? Bring your whole family, invite your friends and neighbors, and sing your heart out along with “The Exchange,” a local band that was the runner up in last year’s SPIRIT 1053 Local Music Project. Here’s the details:

For every step I took into the canyon, I knew it would be two steps up out of the canyon, but it didn’t matter. We reached the twenty foot tall kiln and it was so cool! After a snack, we headed back out the 2.7 mile trail. The boys took off, of course, while I set out on what was to be a good work out. God help me get back to the car, I prayed.
