Farewell to Scott & Sam

Share your memories

Scott and SamFor everything there is a season. SPIRIT 105.3 is going through a season of change. A few months ago, SPIRIT morning co-host Sam Kelly welcomed to the world her baby girl Zoe. Zoe has been dealing with health issues. Sam has decided to become a full time mom to care for little Zoe.  Sam’s co-host Scott Valentine is answering a calling to join a radio ministry in New York.

We are saddened by the departure of our two dear friends and gifted radio broadcasters. We are also excited for them, knowing God will continue to use them in tremendous ways. We’d love for you to share the memories and testimonials you have about Scott & Sam.

Oh heavens!! I went away on vacation and came back and you were gone! How my truly heart sank, I've been listening to you both for so very long. But I understand completely how God can call His in new directions too (how well I know!) Your teary sounding voices were the first I heard on the morning of 9/11 during your call to pray for our nation and the victims. That will be forever in my memory. Sam I almost feel as though I've known you personally. To hear how your life has moved over the years and then you getting married and adding to your family. As a fellow mother my heart is huge for you. I have the deepest prayers that Zoe's health is fully restored. Take a moment to read 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. It's is a great encouragement to stay strong and faithful. Scott, I can honestly say that hearing about the various diet chellenges your home has gone through over the years prepared me for being diagnosed with gluten intolerance a few months back. Your stories were recalled in my head so many times in the days that followed and since. Glad to say I'm healthier without the gluten too! I just can't express how much you will both be deeply missed. I pray for God's richest blessings on you both in all aspects of your lives and for your families. You're blessings have stretched far greater than you will ever know. All the very best to both of you! - Sincerest in Him - Leigh Cagilaba

It has been an honor to listen to Scott and Sam in the morning, they had more than just a great chemistry, they were passionate for Christ, for people and for their families. I know that God will continue to use them in a mighty way, and I thank you for being so "human", that we were touched by your lives. Bless you and your families!

Scott & Sam always seemed to have a word of encouragement or a scripture that helped me get through my day. I loved how they were "there" with us first thing in the morning.

Thank you for being who you were for so many of us. It was truly a blessing!
I will miss you guys and I pray that you will be blessed in the life changes ahead.

We got a call from Carmella. She wanted to hear the thought from Mr. Rogers that was shared just a moment ago. In a trembling voice she shared that things were not going well and it felt hopeless between her and her husband. Read More
