Unsung Hero: Nikki Gane

Nikki Gane of Kent has been recognized as a SPIRIT 105.3 “Unsung Hero.”

Hope, joy, dignity and the beginning of transformation is what you can find in a small purple bag that an organization titled Dignity for Divas provides homeless women on the streets of Seattle. The bag is filled with personal hygiene items that are meant to restore a sense of decency for struggling women. Nikki Gane is the reason for this organizations existence.

We asked Nikki why she decided to start this organization, “Every person deserves to feel good about themselves on a daily basis. Many at-risk homeless women in Seattle are unable to obtain some basic needs that are needed to feel good. Our volunteers and donors help restore their dignity.”

Under Nikki’s leadership, Dignity for Divas has given out nearly 10,000 bags to those in need in the last year. With a servant’s heart and a passion for others, Nikki is a shining example of the “SPIRIT of Seattle.” It’s an honor and a privilege to recognize her as one of our “Unsung Heroes.”

SPIRIT 105.3’s “SPIRIT of Seattle – Unsung Hero” campaign is a program that recognizes individuals for their efforts to faithfully and selflessly serve others in our communities with joy and excellence each and every day.
