Anyone! We’re searching for Seattle's talented musicians! Invite your friends, family, coworkers or Worship Team to participate if you feel they’ve got what it takes to become the next known artist! They just need to perform and have an original Christian song, whether solo artist or in a band; we want to hear from them! We ask that they get the song recorded as best as possible and upload their favorite version to be entered into the contest.

Now! We’re accepting entries now through August 31st.

  • August 4th  – August 31st —This month, we’re asking artists & bands to upload their original Christian songs, artist bio and background story on the song, plus a recent color photo taken in the last 6 months to the Local Music Project on SPIRIT1053.com.
  • September 8th – September 21st —Voting begins! Each week, five solo artists/bands will be featured online at SPIRIT1053.com. Listeners will vote for their favorite. The winning solo artist/band will advance to the finals. Listeners can vote for their favorite ONCE A DAY per person online or via the NEW SPIRIT Mobile App!
  • September 22nd – September 28th —Finals! This week, we will feature the top 2 favorite solo artists/bands. YOUR votes are what got them to the finals and will help them get their song on-air!
  • October 1st —The grand prize winner will be announced live on-air and they’ll open for the Newsboys five days later on October 6th!

Why not?! Think of the exposure! This is an opportunity for local artists/bands to share their positive message and talents with thousands of people and the opportunity to open for Newsboys on October 6th at Overlake Church in Redmond! And of course, the countless PRIZES courtesy of the generous Local Music Project Sponsors: South Hill Mall, Gamblin Motors, Ted Brown Music, and Surrender Magazine!

  • So, Whose Job Is It?

Are you a "highlighter?" What I mean is, when you read, do you read interactively like I do with a pen and a highlighter, making notes in the margins and dog-earing pages to go back to? I think I get this from my mom. My favorite part of borrowing books from her is her notes in the margins. Sometimes, I feel like God is a "highlighter" too. Read More
