What's In Your Box of Chocolates?

If you had told me 6 years ago that I would be married, have two kids and work at a Christian radio station I would’ve said, ”Who’s life are you talking about?!”  It makes me think of that line from the movie Forest Gump, “Life is like a box of chocolates……ya never know what you going to get.”   I had almost given up hope of getting married and having kids. I always thought that having a family was in my future but as the birthdays started to quickly pass by and the grey hair slowly began to appear one strand a time I started to give-up hope. Honestly there came a moment right after I turned 37 that I was okay with not getting married….really.  But of course as life would have it that is when I met my husband Blake in a very unlikely place.  I NEVER in million years thought that you could ever find true love on the internet.  In fact I signed up on one those dating sites to support a friend who really, really wanted to find Mrs. Right.  I told him that I would sign up too but that I would only go on 7 dates and then I was out!  Well, Blake turned out to be date #5.  We married within a year of meeting and had two beautiful daughters--Lucy and Kennedy.  It was the blessing and the life I so dreamed of having.  Looking back I now realize….God had a hand in ALL of it.

See I’m what you would call a new Christian.  I’ve always believed in God. I grew up Catholic, went to CCD and had my confirmation when I was 7.  But even through all of that and knowing about God……I never knew what it was to have an intimate relationship with Him.  As I began handing my life over to Christ that’s when the idea of working at SPIRIT 105.3 came to mind.  At the time I thought to myself, “Nah…I’m not Christian enough yet, I’m still working through my past sins.  They won’t want someone like me?!”  But you see, God wanted someone like me! He knew exactly where I needed to be.  So, if life is like a box of chocolates than I believe God is the chocolatier. He knows exactly what is in the box!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

I am so blessed with this beautiful abundant life! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me next!

Never give up hope…..God is making beautiful chocolates for you too!!

Love,

Ana
