Surprise!

The doorbell took me by surprise. I answered it in sweats and a ponytail looking exhausted.

There stood my father-in-law and all I could think about was our messy house. I pictured myself as a flight attendant. To our left, you'll notice cereal bowls stacked in the sink. To our right? Fisher-Price has exploded in our living room.

Kenny smiled and said he hardly noticed the clutter as I welcomed him in. He knows we have a busy life; he wasn't coming over to check-in on the status of our cleanliness. He's not an inspector, he's our dad.

I thought about Jesus and the fact that he feels welcome in my messy life. He is kind to me amidst my chaos. Like Kenny, He simply comes to spend time with me.

No need to hide the mess,

Sarah

God Bless Sarah, life is so busy and he just wanted to spend 'time' with you...ahhh that word, sometimes I dislike it very much. You are very blessed to have a father-in-law in your life, I know you realize that. God Bless those little, but very large things in life, that folks just don't take the 'time' to do.

    Appreciate you,
    Carla Marie

Thank you for reminding me that JESUS did meet me in my mess. I did not have to clean up before HE came into my life. HE"LL take care of all that in HIS time. We should take time for each other, life is so short, in our busy lives we sometimes forget that. GOD bless you. :)

Just wanted to leave a prayer request, I'm having many difficulties in my life right now, I need a new job as my other one is ending Monday and I need one right away as I have cancer and need the insurance and the money; also my son is in jail and is in need of prayer for God to help him from his addiction and troubles with the law. I appreciate your station and it uplifts me daily. Keep on keeping on! Cheryl

I was discussing the holiday with a coworker the other day, and we began joking that perhaps what many of our tables need is an extra seat for a licensed family therapist to mediate. “Yes,” he laughed, “they could wear a referee shirt! With a whistle!” Read More
