There's Power in YOUR Story
2 1

If you and I are even a little alike, then you love a good story. The kind where you see a bit of yourself in the characters and good prevails over tremendous adversity. I can’t help but think back to the mid 70’s, sitting with my friends at the Arcada Theater in St Charles Il., watching Star Wars for the 1st time. Even though the special effects were amazing, the real power of that film was and still is in the story. Luke Skywalker and his comrades conquer evil and save the day. The lightsaber duels, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter scenes, and amazing THX sound were all simply enhancements to a fantastic story.

Clearly, Jesus knew the power of a good story to communicate deeper truths about Himself and His love for you and me. The four gospels in the new testament of the Bible are a collection of the stories that Jesus told, and by all accounts a lot of people listened intently.

The reason I bring this up is to remind you that YOU have a story as well. The ups and downs of your life, the ways you’ve struggled and found victory, the big ways and the small ways that God has guided you on this journey… it all makes a great story, if you’re willing to share it. Your story, even if it’s not finished and the victory hasn’t come quite yet, can be a moment of peace and hope for another SPIRIT 105.3 family member.

At SPIRIT 105.3, our hope is to be good story tellers. We want to share with western Washington and the world the news that Jesus came, died for us, and rose again. We also want to share that he continues to tell that story in many different ways through each of us. Will you join us, by sharing your story? I promise someone needs to hear it today. Please share your story by sending us an email, comment on our Facebook wall or call directly at 1-877-ASK-1053.

I have been seperated for 10 months now after been married for almost 10 years. I have two boys, 9 and 4 years old. I started taking online classes when my ex and I seperated. I wasn't going to let the situation stop me from doing well in school. I have been in school now for 7 months, I have been getting A's and B's. I was also diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last October. It's been a challenge studying and doing my school work, but God has been with me to deal with all of this and struggling financially. My mom has been paying my bills for me so my boys and I will have a place to live. I continue to work hard in school ,be there for my boys, deal with this medical condition that keeps me from being able to wrork right now and trusting God that my situation will get better. I did get an amazing refund that I didn't expect to get until the 6th or 8th of February.God has been so amazing in giving me incredible strength to do all of this.I am starting a home based business and believing that this will be the source to get me off my feet. I was at the Puyallup Fairgrounds on February 2nd for Feed My starving Children to pack food to get shipped out to 70 different countries around the world. I was getting dizzy, legs aching very badly and feeling fatigue from the thyroid condition, but still didn't stop my from wanting to be there and pack as many bags of food as possible. God is awesome and I know my circumstances are starting to turn around as we speak.

    Thank you God !!

    Good Morning Spirit Family,

I wanted to say thank you for all the things you do help me with my spiritual growth. I would also like to comment on Amy's extreme measure chilhood story. I have a brother with a simular childhood story. When we were growing up, we lived in Germany and my parents had a huge table where we had assigned seating for our big family. We were also told that we had to eat all of our food before we could be excused from the table. One day my mother was doing some spring cleaning and she found tuns of dried peas in the drawer where my brother sat. We laughed about that for years. That same brother still struggles with his weight today, he is scheduled for a hip replacement this summer. His doctor is working with him to look for other solutions. He put him on a diet and so far he has lost 15 pounds. (smile) Can you please pray for his continued success. Thank you!

  • For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
  • We were playing outside with our kids last weekend and my son was blowing a bubble. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, a few clouds in the sky and just a nice, subtle breeze. The kids were in shorts, running around laughing and when they stopped to blow bubbles, my son said, “Let’s blow some bubbles up to heaven for Jesus. I know he will love this. He wants to pop some. He’ll laugh.”
