There’s something so inviting about a warmly lit kitchen on a dark Autumn evening.
Over the weekend, I decided to try my hand at an easy chicken casserole. I think even more than the food itself, I was craving the memory of growing up when my mother would prepare something similar in our kitchen.
Eagerly, my daughter pulled up a stool to help. As she stirred and I chopped, I realized how nice it was to have the TV off for a change. My husband joined us and before I knew it, we were having an impromptu family meal. (We even sat at the dining room table!)
Go ahead and knock out a little comfort food this week. I learned it provides more than just physical nourishment.
