Newport Easter Eggz-travaganza

Children (5th grade and under) and their parents are invited to join us for a free event on Saturday, April 4th at 9:30 am or 11:00 am at Newport Covenant Church.  This hour long event will include a great performance by Blake Caldwell.  Through a combination of illusions, comedy, audience interaction and “balloonimations” (yeah, he made that up), kids will be laughing, parents will be swept up in the flow; and all will be ready to hear what God has for them!  There will also be cookie decorating and, of course, an egg hunt.  Pre-registration is not required.  The children are divided into two groups (Kindergarten and under in one lot and 1st-5th grade in the other lot) for the egg hunt so all the hunters are sure to find candy-filled eggs.

"What You Haven't Been Told About Dinosaurs"--Brian Thomas (Apologetics Symposium)

Brian Thomas presents little-known but critical observations about dinosaurs, gleaned from science and Scripture. He presents solid answers to the biggest dinosaur questions, including how the fossil and historical evidence of dinosaurs and dragons fits so well with Noah’s Flood.

The Apologetics Symposium takes place the 3rd Thursday each month at Cedar Park Church in Bothell WA. The programs feature presentations from educators and scientists who are dedicated to defending the Bible. They are free to attend, and also available for viewing through live webcast or the recordings archived on our website:  http://nwcreation.net/symposium/

Providence Mount St. Vincent Chapel Naming and Celebration Mass

Providence  Mount St. Vincent invites the public to attend a mass to celebrate the naming of its chapel in honor of William Pigott's visionary commitment, legacy of faith, service and sacrificial giving. The mass will begin at 11 a.m. on April 26, 2015 in the chapel at Providence Mount St. Vincent, 4831 35th Ave. SW, Seattle. The Very Reverend Paul Magnano will preside. The event will honor William Pigott and Ann P. Wyckoff, long-time supporters of Providence Mount St. Vincent. "It’s an honor to continue my grandfather’s legacy," Wyckoff said about naming the William Pigott Chapel in honor of her grandfather. In 1924, Pigott and five other lead donors partnered with the Sisters of Providence to raise the needed funds to build St. Vincent Home for the Aged, today called Providence Mount St. Vincent. Together they held the vision that a just society must plan for and provide care for its elders. The building was dedicated on April 26, 1924. The mass will include a performance of an original score by Grammy-winning film, television and symphony composer Mateo Messina, who throughout his life has visited many Sisters of Providence and "The Mount" while his mother worked there, and where she receives care today. In gratitude, Messina joins in honoring William Pigott and Ann Wyckoff. To RSVP or for information, call 206-938-6194 or e-mail ann.martin@providence.org.

Strollin' to Fight SIDS

Strollin' to Fight SIDS is a 5K "stroll" to raise awareness about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Other Sleep-related Infant Death and raise funds for research. Held in memory of Anneliese, it is an opportunity for families who have experienced this nightmare to share their stories and celebrate the life of their child. It is an opportunity for the community to come together to laugh, stroll, remember the lives of these children, learn more about SIDS and Other Sleep-related Infant Death, and raise funds for research. The ultimate goal is to find the cause(s) of SIDS and prevent SIDS from ever touching another family.

Event Admission Fee (if any): 0-$25 age based.  See website

  • Making A Difference

Listening to SPIRIT 105.3…the encouragement and hope that is heard in the music, can be just what your heart ordered.  It amazes me to hear from listeners who want to know the title of a song, or the artist who sang it, because it’s just what they needed to hear at that time.  Read More
