Confession time: My hair is not naturally this color.

And lately, I’ve been scrunching up my face as I catch my reflection in the mirror. Its been about four months since I last saw a salon. The roots are the evidence and let me tell ya: it aint pretty.

Why the hair hiatus? My son was born.

My days are spent enjoying his first smiles and his big sisters first loose tooth…which means my hair is in a ponytail and gets washed every other day. And a trip to the salon? Forgetaboutit.

But the other day, my scrunchy face in the mirror turned into a smirk as God whispered to my heart:

The roots you see in your hair simply prove your priorities: you’re busy creating roots for your children.
